Pakistan showcased its tourism potential at ITB Berlin 2026, with a strong focus on highlighting the natural beauty and opportunities of Gilgit-Baltistan. The three-day global travel exhibition, held from March 3 to 5 in Berlin, brought together tourism stakeholders from nearly 180 countries.
Among the key participants, the Department of Tourism, Sports and Culture Gilgit-Baltistan played a prominent role, continuing its long-standing presence at ITB Berlin for the past 13 years. This year, the region joined the Pakistan Pavilion through the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, alongside other provincial departments and private tourism companies.
The Gilgit-Baltistan delegation, led by Secretary Tourism Faisal Ahsan Pirzada and Director Iqbal Hussain, actively engaged with international tour operators, investors, and tourism organizations. They highlighted the region’s stunning landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and growing adventure tourism sector, aiming to attract global attention and investment.
Pakistan’s pavilion was inaugurated by Sarwar Hussain and organized by the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation under the Ministry of IPC. The pavilion presented a wide range of tourism offerings, including mountain tourism, eco-tourism, cultural heritage, and investment opportunities, reflecting a coordinated national effort.
